Baseball Legend Johnny Bench Confirms Fifth Marriage

Johnny Bench is a married man. He told The Enquirer’s “That’s So Cincinnati” show on Wednesday that he got married for the fifth time in March.

“We met seven years ago when our sons played soccer together,” he said.

He did say, though, that his future wife didn’t know who he was at first.

“She knew nothing about baseball,” he stated. “She thought I was just a soccer coach.” At the time, she was married. They split up three or four years later, and by that time she had moved. Then she moved back, and the boys began hanging out with each other again. We hung out together and said, “Isn’t love great?”

Bench went to a media event on Wednesday to show off new menu items at Council Oak Steaks & Seafood in Hard Rock Casino. He talked about a lot more, including what he thinks about adding a “ghost runner” to extra innings in baseball.

He said, “Don’t like that.” “I know who started it, and he’s sorry that he did it.”
