Trish Morrison Obituary: Honoring a Life Well Lived

Mary Patricia Leiweke was born on August 3, 1954, to Jack and Helen Leiweke. She always liked to be called Trish, though.

The six of her lived in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was born and raised. When she was young, she lost her mother to cancer, which was a sad event in her life. She learned how to deal with hard times and enjoy every day. He met her while he was working with a moving band. She then moved to Statesville, North Carolina, and they got married there in 1984.

Tracey had never met a stranger. Many people will remember her, and those who were lucky enough to know her can speak to how special she was. She had a great time in life and shared love and laughter with everyone she met. Having grandkids was the best thing that ever happened to her. Four pretty girls call her “Bubbi,” and she loves them and all of her grandkids so much that it’s impossible to measure.

Her husband Butch Morrison, her four children (Todd Morrison and Elizabeth Elizabeth, Emily Morrison and Bryan Morrison, Mackenzie Chapski and Brent Chapski, and Taylor Cook and Tyler Cook), and her grandkids Carter, Elin, Mason, and Natalie will miss her. Many loving nieces and nephews and her brothers, Terry Leiweke (Shelley), Tim Leiweke (Bernadette), Tod Leiweke (Tara) and Therese Foppe (Joe), will miss her.

Lisa Cady and Beth Burrelsman, two soul sisters, and a large group of friends who became family and whom we lovingly call “The St. Louis Family” are also left behind.

The people who died before her were her mother Helen, father Jack, brother Tracey, nephew Peter, and niece Nora. Next Spring, we will have a private memorial service for our lovely wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. But as a family, we know how much people in our town love her, so we are also planning a party for her here. When those facts are set in stone, we’ll let you know.
