Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, who have been one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples, have officially ended their marriage after nearly 30 years together. According to court records, Furness filed for an uncontested divorce in New York’s Suffolk County Supreme Court on May 23, 2025, following more than a year of separation. Their divorce comes after they had announced their split in September 2023.
The couple, who first met on the set of the 1995 Australian television series Correlli, had been married since 1996 and share two adult children, Oscar and Ava. Their separation was revealed to the public in a statement to People magazine, where they expressed their decision to separate for personal growth.
The statement read: “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

As per Daily Mail, they emphasized that their family would always remain their top priority: “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
Jackman, 56, who is best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, most recently starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in the summer blockbuster Deadpool 3 in 2024. Furness, 69, was last seen on the big screen in the mystery thriller sequel Force of Nature in 2024.
The couple’s relationship began on the set of Correlli, where Jackman was a newcomer to acting, and he quickly developed a crush on his co-star. In a 2017 interview with People, Jackman recalled, “I was jealous, I had a crush, and I was mortified.
This was maybe six weeks into shooting.” Despite his reservations, Jackman eventually admitted his feelings to Furness at a dinner party. To his surprise, she reciprocated his feelings, and their relationship blossomed.
