The next round of Social Security funds will be sent out soon, as we move into the third week of September. These checks are sent out in groups, and the day you get yours relies on when you were born or how long you’ve been getting Social Security. We can help you if you don’t know when to expect your check or if you think you’re missing a check you should have gotten.
The full pay plan for September 2024 is shown below, along with some questions you may have about your benefits. If you still haven’t gotten your August check, read about what to do if your Social Security payment is late.\

Do you want to know what day of the month your check will arrive? Here is when you will get paid from Social Security and SSDI in September.

How do I find out when my Social Security payment will come?
People who get Social Security usually start getting their money on the second Wednesday of every month. The last two payments will be sent out on the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Your payment week is based on the date you were born. One big thing is different, and I’ll talk about it below.

Will all of my other government perks come at the same time?
Your payment plan isn’t based on your birthday if you started getting Social Security benefits before May 1997 or if you get both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income. They are instead sent out every month on the same date, with a few variations I’ll talk about below.
A Social Security check is sent out every three months, and an SSI check is sent out every month on the first. If the first or third of the month is a weekend or holiday, these dates may change. For example, March 3 was a weekend, so people who get Social Security got their March checks on March 1, two days early. In November, the same thing will happen.
Social Security and Social Security Disability Insurance are the only benefits that are always given at the same time.
